Quarry Products
The Geddes Group have operated as quarry masters since the early 1970's starting with a single hard rock quarry. Today we operate 3 sand & gravel quarries and 4 hard rock quarries and to date have quarried over 20 Million tonnes combined.
All aggregates produced from Geddes Group Quarries are regulary tested for both grading compliance and various physical property tests to the Specification of Highway Works. Our quarries are evenly distributed up the east coast from Markle in East Lothian up to Stannochy near brechin. The differing properties of stone from these different geographic areas allow us a variety of products from cheap infills and bottoming to High PSV aggregates and now Limestone.

Sand & Gravel Quarries
Washed Gravels, screened over 40mm, 20mm, 14mm, 10mm and 6mm screens as well as Washed Concrete Sand and Washed Building Sand. Our sand & gravel pits have usually been near the Tayside and Angus regions and still supply aggregate for concrete production in our ready mixed concrete plant in Ardownie near Dundee. In 2008 we started sand & gravel extraction at Balado, near Kinross which allows us to extend our services into the Fife, Perthsire, Edinburgh and Lothain regions.

Rock Quarries
Our rock quarries are well established in their areas and have probably supplied materials to most of the building and construction projects in East and Central Scotland. As well as a full grading range of drainfills and pipe beddings, we also produce larger rock sizes suitable for filling gabion baskets (approx 200mm to 150mm) and even Rip Rap and armour stone up to 2 tonnes in weight.
With our haulage fleet often travelling between quarries to assist with deliveries, we quite often have stock of sands and gravels at our rock quarries and vice versa. Particulary popular in the North is the terracotta shade of decorative chips supplied from Markle Quarry
